NOKO Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 1, 2026
Last updated: September 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Type II Logic ("Type II Logic," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when you use NOKO, visit the NOKO website, create or manage a NOKO account, contact us for support, or use online features connected to NOKO.
NOKO is a product of Type II Logic. NOKO is designed primarily for merchants and small retailers in Ghana.
We aim to process personal data fairly, lawfully, transparently, and securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana and other applicable data-protection requirements.
1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data
For personal data for which Type II Logic determines the purposes and means of processing, Type II Logic acts as the data controller.

2. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to the NOKO website, NOKO account and subscription services, the NOKO mobile application, support interactions, and online services operated by Type II Logic for NOKO.
A merchant using NOKO may independently collect personal data from the merchant's own customers. In that situation, the merchant is responsible for determining whether it has a lawful basis to collect and use that information, including customer contact details used for quotations, receipts, refunds, or other merchant communications.
3. Personal Data We May Collect
Depending on how you use NOKO, we may collect account and identity information, business information, subscription and billing information, merchant commerce data, optional merchant-customer contact information, device and security information, and support communications.
Account information may include your name, business name, email address, phone number, account identifiers, authentication information, registered-device information, and information needed to create, secure, recover, or manage your NOKO account.
Business information may include business or trading name, contact information, business settings, subscription plan, and information required to configure supported services.
Subscription and billing information may include transaction references, payment status, amount, currency, billing timestamps, masked payment-method information, and provider-generated authorization metadata needed to manage authorized recurring billing. Card numbers and CVV values are entered into payment-provider controlled payment interfaces. Type II Logic does not store full payment-card numbers or CVV values.
Merchant commerce data may include products, inventory movements, prices, completed sales, receipt records, reports, payment status, refunds, returns, and related operational data. NOKO is designed so that core point-of-sale data can remain available locally on the merchant's device. Local merchant data is not automatically uploaded merely because the application is opened. Some features may transmit limited data when an online service is deliberately used, such as account services, synchronization when enabled, subscription verification, electronic payment processing, or support functions.
A merchant may optionally enter customer information such as a phone number or email address for a quotation, receipt, payment-related operation, or other customer-requested communication. NOKO is designed to minimize this information. Where an electronic payment provider requires an email address for transaction processing and the buyer has not voluntarily provided one, NOKO may use a configured technical relay identity rather than converting the buyer's phone number into an email address.
Device and security data may include device identifiers, session identifiers, public cryptographic keys, security events, application version, operating-system information, IP address, timestamps, diagnostic events, and similar technical information needed to secure, troubleshoot, operate, and protect NOKO. Diagnostic information is designed to avoid secrets and unnecessary personal content.
If you contact us, we may keep the information you provide, including your contact details, support request, correspondence, and information reasonably needed to investigate or resolve the issue.
4. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
NOKO is not designed to collect or store full payment-card numbers, CVV values, mobile-money PINs, payment-provider passwords, or other reusable provider secrets.
You should never send those credentials to Type II Logic through support, email, screenshots, diagnostics, or any NOKO form.
5. Why We Process Personal Data
We process personal data as reasonably necessary to provide and operate NOKO; create, secure, authenticate, and recover accounts; provide subscription access; process and reconcile supported payment operations; provide requested quotations or receipt delivery; maintain business records and service continuity; prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and duplicate financial effects; provide customer support; diagnose technical failures; comply with legal and regulatory obligations; enforce our agreements; and protect the rights, systems, property, and users of Type II Logic and NOKO.
Where consent is the appropriate legal basis, you may withdraw consent subject to applicable law. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
We do not use merchant or customer personal data for direct marketing without the authorization required by applicable law.
6. Payment Processing
NOKO may integrate with third-party payment providers, including Paystack, to process subscription payments and supported merchant payment operations.
Payment providers operate under their own legal, security, privacy, compliance, and settlement obligations. Information necessary to process a payment may be sent to the relevant provider, including transaction amount, currency, transaction reference, payment channel information, and required customer or merchant information.
NOKO does not treat a browser redirect, payment instruction, temporary account number, or unverified provider response as proof that a payment has succeeded. Payment finality is determined through the applicable server-side verification process.
NOKO does not hold merchant customer funds. Settlement of electronic payments is handled by the relevant payment provider and financial institutions.
7. Recurring Subscription Billing
If you authorize recurring NOKO subscription billing, the payment provider may issue a reusable payment authorization. Type II Logic may securely retain the provider authorization reference and associated billing identity needed to submit future authorized renewal charges.
The reusable authorization itself is not exposed to the NOKO website or mobile application.
NOKO's subscription entitlement is determined by Type II Logic's backend after confirmed payment. A payment-provider response by itself does not grant application entitlement.
8. How We Share Personal Data
We do not sell personal data.
We may share or make personal data available to service providers only where reasonably necessary to operate NOKO, including payment processors, hosting and cloud infrastructure providers, communications providers, security and fraud-prevention providers, and professional advisers.
Paystack may process information when you use Paystack-supported payment functionality. Paystack's handling of information is also governed by Paystack's applicable privacy terms.
We may disclose information where required by law, regulation, court order, lawful regulatory request, or where reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, or enforce legal agreements.
If Type II Logic undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, or transfer of all or part of the NOKO business, relevant information may be transferred subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
9. International Processing
Type II Logic has operations in Ghana and the United States, and some service providers may process information outside Ghana.
Where personal data is transferred or processed internationally, we will take reasonable steps to use appropriate contractual, organizational, and technical safeguards required by applicable law.
10. Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business, security, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, fraud-prevention, regulatory, and legal obligations.
Retention periods vary by category. Account information may be kept while an account is active and for an appropriate period afterward. Transaction and financial records may be retained for legally required accounting, audit, dispute, or compliance periods. Security logs and technical diagnostics may be kept for shorter periods unless needed to investigate an incident.
Deletion of a NOKO account does not necessarily require deletion of records that Type II Logic must retain by law or legitimately retain to protect financial integrity, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, or preserve immutable transaction evidence.
11. Local Merchant Data and Account Deletion
NOKO's offline-first design means some business data may exist only on a merchant's device.
Deleting a NOKO online account does not automatically erase local records from every device. Likewise, uninstalling the application may remove local application data depending on the operating system and device configuration.
NOKO will not intentionally delete completed sales or merchant business records merely because a subscription expires.
Where an account-deletion function is provided, we will explain what server-side information will be deleted, what must be retained, and what local device data requires separate action.
12. Security
Type II Logic uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal data, including access controls, secure transport, authentication controls, secret separation, data minimization, integrity checks, and security logging.
No system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, account, authentication methods, and recovery channels and for notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
13. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The NOKO website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies that are necessary for security, authentication, session management, preferences, and basic site operation.
We will not use advertising or non-essential tracking technologies without providing any notice or consent mechanism required by applicable law.
If analytics or additional tracking tools are introduced, this Policy and any required cookie controls should be updated before those tools are enabled.
14. Your Data-Protection Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to be informed about the collection and use of your personal data; request access to personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data; object to certain processing; request restriction, deletion, blocking, or destruction where legally available; withdraw consent where processing depends on consent; object to direct marketing; and complain about how your personal data is processed.
Some rights are not absolute. We may need to retain certain information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, preserve transaction integrity, prevent fraud, or meet regulatory obligations.
To exercise a privacy right, contact support@jstifyd.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
You may also contact the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe your data-protection rights have been violated.

15. Children
NOKO is a business and commerce service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly create NOKO merchant accounts for children who are not legally capable of entering the applicable agreement.
16. Third-Party Sites and Services
NOKO may link to third-party websites or services. Type II Logic does not control the privacy practices of independent third parties. Their own privacy policies apply to information they process independently.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when NOKO, our legal obligations, or our service providers change.
We will publish the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we process personal data, we will provide additional notice where reasonably required by law.
